Hi Reader, Our annual Peacetober art auction closes in less than 24 hours at the following local times: π Noon Los Angeles (Thursday) π 3 pm New York (Thursday) π 8 pm London (Thursday) π 10 pm Gaza (Thursday) π 5 am Kuala Lumpur (Friday) π 7 am Sydney (Friday) So far we have raised $5,400 USD, which is 36% of our goal. The auction comes at a critical time for the 25 family campaigns we are committed to assisting. Winter weather will soon be here, and so many of our families are living in tents (some of which need to be replaced). Most lack adequate warm weather clothing and blankets, and food and medical care are still quite expensive.
βYou'll find a huge variety of items in this year's auction; we're so grateful to our creative and generous community for your contributions! So far, three of our most popular items have been: But we also have so many lovely pieces that don't yet have any bids, including these amazing items below! βVIEW ALL ITEMS THAT DON'T YET HAVE BIDSβ If you're on a budget, digital downloads are an excellent choice! Bidding for digital pieces starts at $10, and you can increase your bid by just $1 at a time if you're outbid. Digital downloads are a valuable art form, made either traditionally, then scanned, or by digital means. Either way, they take as much time and talent to create as physical works of art, and the winner will receive a high resolution file that can be used in many ways. What I've shared in this email is just a small sampling of the more than 280 items you'll find in the auction, including:
βVIEW ALL AUCTION ITEMSβ Here's the key information to remember about the Peactober auction: You are bidding in US dollars. Not sure how much your bid is in your local currency? Use a currency converter like this one. Before you place a bid, double check if the item ships to your location. For physical items, just below the picture and title of the item, you'll see whether it says "worldwide shipping" or specifies a particular place. If you're the winning bidder, a Coffees for Gaza volunteer will follow up with you within 2 weeks to give you instructions on which family campaign to donate your bid to. We'll also connect you with the artist who made your item so that they can get delivery info from you. Bidding closes in less than 24 hours at the following local times: π3 pm New York (Thursday) π 8 pm London (Thursday) π 10 pm Gaza (Thursday) π 7 am Syndey (Friday) With love and solidarity, Rebekah Gienapp and the Coffees for Gaza team P.S. Hi Reader, When I first "met" Nourhan's family, it was through an Instagram video of her daughter Najat, then 4 years old, enthusiastically cooking in their tent. She had such a sweet and hopeful spirit, despite all the trauma that she, her mother, and her little brother Mohammed had been through. Over the last two years, I've lost count of how many times Nourhan and her children were displaced. They had several brushes with violence that were incredibly close calls. Through it all, Nourhan...
Hi Reader, Often in our newsletter I share with you the hardships that our families are facing in Gaza. Those hardships are still very much present, but today I want to offer a roundup of good news from our families and volunteers. Together, as a collective, we are making an impact. Take a moment to celebrate with us the following good news! Welcome baby Rayan! πΆπ½Oday and Rawan recently welcomed their second child, baby Rayan, into the world! Mom, Dad, and big brother Yaman are so proud. If...
Hi Reader, Today I'd like to tell you more about one of our 25 families: Fadi, his wife Alaa, and their three daughters: Danya (age 13), Kinda (age 10), and Leen (age 7.) Fadi and Alaa often call the girls their "flowers." The family's original home is in Gaza City, and it was destroyed in the early days of the war. Fadi worked for a large bank as a International Investment Consultant. Before the genocide began, Alaa was hoping to open a shop. During the war, they were displaced multiple...
