Hi Reader, As Coffees for Gaza turns 2 (more on that below), we have a urgent request from Oday and Rawan's family. Their 5 month-old-son Rayan has developed an amoebic parasite due to tainted water. As you know, there is no real sanitation available in Gaza. Rawan and Oday were devastated to learn that Rayan has been infected, because their toddler Yaman also had the same infection as an infant. This is a very dangerous condition and they need to get treatment for Rayan as soon as possible....

Hi Reader, It's been a while since we've updated you about how our transition to the Family Sponsor Program is going. If this is the first time you're hearing of the Family Sponsor Program, these are donors who sign up give $5 a month (or more) to a particular Coffees for Gaza family through the family's fundraising link on Chuffed or GoFundMe. We are so thankful to the 82 people so far who have signed up to donate approximately 1300 Great British Pounds per month. These family sponsors have...

Hi Reader, Fadi cares for so many family members, and he does everything he can to avoid asking for help. He and his family need our care. What if we could show even a fraction of the generosity to him that he share with the people around him? I've shared before that Fadi and his wife have three beautiful daughters, who he calls their "flowers." But Fadi also supports his elderly parents and his younger sister. Alaa, Fadi and their three daughters: Danya, Kinda, and Leen The family has long...

Hi Reader, Tahani, Mohammed, and their four children urgently need your support. They have exhausted all their funds and food. As you can see below, a recent storm badly damaged their already battered tent. The streets near their tent regularly collect sewage-infested water, putting them at risk of serious illness. Various family members have already fallen ill several times. Tahani also wants to pass along her gratitude to Coffees for Gaza supporters like you for your past generosity. You...

Hi Reader, On Friday, families across Gaza were able to celebrate Eid al-Fitr for the first time since the genocide began. While all of the 25 families we're in relationship with still face incredibly harsh living conditions, it has been wonderful to see the joy and beauty in their holiday pictures and messages. On behalf of our families, we'd like to share thanks and appreciation for all the emotional and financial support you have offered. Every dollar you've donated, every post or email...

Hi Reader, First I'd like to say THANK YOU to each of you who's made a gift to our new Emergency Fund or signed up for our monthly Family Sponsor Program. Your support of our families means the world to them, both at a practical, financial level and at an emotional one. It's not easy to keep your heart open to the suffering in our world, especially when it seems like those in power care so little about the harm they are causing. I hope you'll take encouragement from this art that Janna Dwyer...

Hi Reader, Our hearts are broken for the people of Iran as the U.S. and Israel rain down bombs on civilians. We grieve the more than 1,000 lives that have been needlessly lost so far, especially the scores of school girls in Minab whose promising young lives were cut short. As you've likely seen in the news, the effects of the assault on Iran are rippling far beyond the country's borders. Our families in Gaza are being impacted in significant ways. While we're still getting reports from...

Hi Reader, Ramadan Kareem to all who are celebrating the holy month of fasting, worship, and generosity! As a Christian I have been thinking about what it means that the Islamic month of Ramadan and the Christian season of Lent began on the same day this year - which has not happened in 126 years. For me it's a reminder of how much we share in common no matter where we live or how we worship. For the 25 families Coffees for Gaza is in relationship with, Ramadan is an incredibly special time....

Hi Reader, If you've been part of the Coffees for Gaza community for a while, you've probably heard us talk about Abdullah Ziad's family. While all 25 of the families we're in relationship with have endured trauma during the genocide, the amount of pain and danger that Abdullah has experienced is hard to wrap our minds and hearts around. Abdullah and his wife Haneen have four young children: Mohammed, Ziad, Omar and Amir. Abdullah has complex health conditions including diabetes that he can...
