Welcome baby cards for Nosiba

Hi Reader,

Thank you for all the love and solidarity you show our families Gaza! Today we have two updates for you:

  • a new baby card fundraiser for Nosiba, who will soon be delivering her baby and has no medical care
  • how you can help us spread the word on social media about our family sponsor program

Welcome baby card fundraiser for Nosiba

For the past 6 months, Nosiba, her husband Omar, and their three children (Khaled, Mariam, and Lana) have been living in a battered makeshift tent trying to acquire the basic essentials to survive.

It's summer in Gaza and living in the tent is unbearably hot. Because there is no sanitation, like almost all families living in tents, they are plagued by rats and insects.

Nosiba is due to have her baby in September, and she does not have a doctor for prenatal care or for the baby's delivery. It's vital that our community help her prepare for the baby's birth, which will bring many expenses and needs.

So far, thanks to your generosity, we've been able to raise an additional 334 GBP (448 USD) for the baby beyond the usual monthly donations Nosiba receives. Thank you!

I'm delighted to share that we have a beautiful set of downloadable welcome baby cards that you can purchase to support Nosiba. These cards were created by Coffees for Gaza artists Billy Ruffian, Carmen Garcia, and Petra Braun, and they're perfect for your next baby shower! All proceeds will be donated to Nosiba.

Don't need any baby cards right now? You can also donate directly to Nosiba's campaign:

Donate to the Coffees for Gaza Emergency Fund (U.S. Dollars). All donations for the next two weeks will be directed to Nosiba's campaign.

Can you help us spread the word on social about our Family Sponsor program?

The Coffees for Gaza Family Sponsor program is the way we generate the most consistent support for families who have the greatest need. Family sponsors are matched with a particular family and given instructions on how to make a monthly gift directly to a family's campaign. Giving starts at just $5 a month as is a crucial source of support as Gaza fades from the headlines.

We would love your help in spreading the word on social media about the Family Sponsor program. Can you post the image above on your social media accounts with a message asking folks to become a Family Sponsor? Here's how:

1) Download the high resolution image here.

2) If you're posting to a platform like Facebook where you can share links (or Instagram stories), include the link tinyurl.com/44np5krs

3) Using your own words for the text is always best, but here's an example you can work from:

The Coffees for Gaza Family Sponsor program is a simple way to support families who have lost everything. Coffees for Gaza is an all-volunteer mutual aid effort that has been working closely with 25 families in Gaza for more than 18 months.
Despite the "ceasefire" declared at the end of 2025, these families still grapple with a lack of basic infrastructure, high prices, and difficulty in finding medical care. Most are living in well-worn tents or in crumbling housing damaged throughout the war.
As significant aid continues to be blocked, direct donations to families from people like you and me is just as important as ever.
As a Family Sponsor, you give up the cost of one takeout coffee a month (or more if you can) and donate it to a particular family that you're matched to. To learn more or sign up go to tinyurl.com/44np5krs.

And if you're not yet a Family Sponsor and would like to join, just fill out this quick Google form and we'll be in touch soon.

With love and solidarity,

Rebekah Gienapp and the Coffees for Gaza team

Hi Reader, I'm excited to share that the prompts for our 2026 Peacetober artivism challenge are now available! You'll find them at the end of this email, along with basic info about Peacetober for those who are new to our community. Urgent needs for Abdullah, Qosay, and Tahani But first, several of our families are facing urgent situations that they need to quickly raise money for. We're asking if you can make a donation of any size to our Emergency Fund so that we can assist as many of them...

Hi Reader, Often in our newsletters I feature one particular family. Today I'm going to focus on a theme that impacts almost every one of our 25 families: education. Before October 2023, Palestinians (including those who live in Gaza) had some of the highest literacy rates in the world. More than 90% of schools were damaged or destroyed during the genocide, with libraries and universities targeted as well. As a UNICEF spokesperson said in January, educational programs in Gaza are not a "nice...

Hi Reader, Thank you so much for being part of the Coffees for Gaza community. As the 25 families we're in relationship with continue to face danger, hunger, and medical crises, we're thankful for each and every one of you who are choosing to amplify their stories and offer your support. Right now, Tahani's family is at the top of our urgent needs list. The family's tent is very close to the yellow line, and they are witnessing shelling and stray bullets flying nearby every day. Attacks by...
